Lunar Eclipse: Dec. 21st 2010

As many of you might already know, there was a total lunar eclipse last night. This was the first time since 1638 that an eclipse coincided with winter solstice, making it a historic event…. We really wanted to watch, but here in Austin the cloudy cover obstructed our view, so we hopped in the Prius and headed west to try and beat the clouds. It was a race against time because the clouds were rolling west but we made it to Fredericksburg just in time during totality and were able to snap a few photos before the clouds came rolling back in. Here is the time lapse of our whole trip! It was about a 2 hour drive each way. Enjoy!

The Scotland Adventure…

Our adventure started in Glasgow as we tried to combat our jet-lag but quickly moved into the Highlands of Scotland. Beautiful rolling hills, hundreds of castles, and thousands of sheep awaited us just beyond the city walls. We rented a small European car and set out with nothing but our cameras and road map, creating our destiny as we explored the windy roads. Left… Left… I told myself…We tuned the radio to the BBC and immersed ourselves in the culture while secretly trying to master the Scottish accent… Along the way we saw wonderful monuments and even had a chance to play King & Queen at Balmoral Castle for an evening, but the the real beauty & adventure was hidden deep within the wilderness… just waiting to be discovered. Trash the Dress in Puerto Vallarta Mexico

We have had an amazing time in Mexico so far. We came here to relax but could not resist the temptation to take advantage of this beautiful location. My cousin let me borrow one of her extra wedding dresses to use in Mexico (more from her Bridal and Trash the Dress session in a couple weeks). We didn’t really have a plan in place when we got to Bucerias but we knew we could find someone to model for us. While visiting a local bar with our neighbors we noticed a girl that looked like she would fit the dress perfectly… soooo we went up and asked her if she would like to model for us. Turns out her boyfriend is from New Braunfels, not to far from where I went to College in San Marcos. It could not have worked out more perfectly. John and Renata were kind enough to take us around Puerto Vallarta to some beautiful locations on the beach. I got a little sunburned and me feet got a little cut up walking around on the rocks but it was totally worth it!

We just couldn’t resist a photo shoot while in Mexico! We meet some local friends at a bar called Yo Yo Mos in downtown Bucerias. Renata was super awesome and she fit the dress we brought perfectly! We were in this amazing location, poolside in a Resort but quickly got booted… so we just went down to the beach. It was an amazing day with more to come tomorrow… we will be shooting more in Puerto Vallarta, Stay tuned…

Trip to Italy

In the summer of 2007 I had the opportunity to travel to Italy. I love to Travel because it really opens up your mind to the world of possibilities. Overall I was there for 5 weeks visiting cities such as Florence, Rome, and Pisa. I also had the opportunity to trace my family roots back to Cefelu, Sicily. I spent the last week in the same small town where my great grandmother grew up in Sant Ambrogio, Sicily.

Truly an amazing experience. Here are some of my favorite photos. I would love the chance to shoot a wedding in this beautiful country.
