Last week I had the pleasure to work with another Austin wedding photographer, Arol of AJH Photography. I ran the Party Booth at his client’s wedding in Conroe, Texas. I had a great time getting people pumped up for their 15 seconds of fame in front of the camera. We had all kinds of props to play with which made for quite an interesting night at the reception.
I prefer this set-up over the physical “Photo-Booth”, which has its limits… Some of the best moments I captured were the in-between moments when people were getting ready to pose. These candid shots can only be achieved if you have a real photographer operating the booth rather than a point & shoot camera on a 3 second count down…

Haha, I had a photobooth at my wedding (best descicion we made… other than marrying each other), and inevitably every guy who went in there tried the “fake punch” thing… so I enjoyed how you got some actual boxibng gloves in there- classic!
I love your photo pics!!!
Looks like fun!!
Dear Francis, how do you shoot with boxing gloves on?
Man, these look like so much fun! I want one! Nice shots, BTW.
Ring Flash FTW! Love the props.
No doubt there’s a little of your personality in every one of these photos.
Hot damn. I am loving the ring flash for this. I may change my whole set-up.
Dude these shots are aaaaaamazing. Truly inspirational. I need to up my game with our photobooths. This is awesome!
Ha–these are great–a fun set of images.
i love you photobooth pictures here! Very different but more creative than what I’m used to seeing. Awesome job!
Looks like a great night all round! Love the props!
Now that’s what I call a crazy booth – looks like some good old fashioned shenanigans! Thanks for sharing Ben!
Yep! All shot with a ring flash…
Great fun shots Ben – I love the first one for it’s simplicity. They all most looked like they were shot with a ring flash?
What an awesome set. Looks fun, for sure.
Hahaha! How much fun is that!!!
I love it!
Awesome stuff Ben. That looks like it was so much fun!
We decided to offer a ‘photobooth’ style area at weddings where we are asked to shoot the evening event. We haven’t actually done it yet and I never thought of taking props, but you’ve given me inspiration to go out and give it a try! Do you find many people buy the pics afterwards, or do you bank on them posting them to their facebook pages and keeping your logo’s??
Fab photo’s too
