Wedding Photography at Shoreline Grill: Ryan & Rachel

Ryan & Rachel are two amazing people whom I had the pleasure of documenting on the most important day of their lives. They got married on April 3rd, 2010 at The Shoreline Grill in downtown Austin on the shores of Lady Bird Lake. I interviewed them prior to the wedding day to find out a little more about how they met. Below are some of my favorite images from the wedding as well as the interview that was showed at the wedding. Make sure to watch the whole thing to see more images from the wedding day.;)

Awesome – really love the group shot and the one of the staircase.

Thomas Lester - April 21, 2010 - 5:56 am

There are so many good things about this shoot it’s hard to start. Your “group” formals are off the chain. Casual, but great. I love the couplings in those shots of the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. I *LOVE* the shot of the groom up front with the girls becoming a red bokeh background. I’m warning you…. I’m stealing some of these ideas ;-)

Great venue, too. Just perfect.

Timothy E Kaldas - April 21, 2010 - 4:42 am

Amazing set Ben. I love the silhouettes. So many great and creative ideas on working with the lighting at the venue.

Danny & Sangeeta’s Indian Wedding at Casa Blanca

Last month I shot Danny and Sangeeta’s Indian wedding at Casa Blanca in Round Rock, Texas. This lovely venue, just a short drive from Austin, is located on the edge of Brushy Creek. It’s actually a house converted into a wedding venue… and I love it! There are beautiful green lawns and a spacious reception hall to entertain many guest. Danny and Sangeeta could not have picked a better location for their wedding. The weather turned out perfect and the day went beautifully! Below are some of my favorite moments as well as a slide-show with the whole wedding day. Enjoy!

Austin Wedding Photography: Matt & Cori @ The Terrace Club

Saturday I had the distinct honor to photograph the wedding of another Austin Wedding Photographer, Matt Montalvo. I wanted to make something truly unique, so I produced a time lapse video of the whole wedding, which took place at The Terrace Club in Austin, Texas. The video was created entirely out of still images, taken with my canon 40d and 5d MarkII. I can honsetly say that this was one of the most entertaining, fun, crazy wedding I have ever attended. That’s because, we photographers and wedding industry folk know how to party! Some of the rockstar guest/vendors included, Francis Cruzada, Sweet Caroline, Arol Horkavy, Matt Montalvo(the groom), Richard Lizama, and Joel from GreenBelt DJ (Highly Recommended)

Check out the wedding photos from Matt & Cori’s wedding at The Terrace Club here.

This video was made using still images taken with my Canon 40d and 5d MarkII. It spans about 6 hrs during the wedding day…

Equipment Used:
10-22mm lens on 40d
45mm TS on 5d
Satechi. TR-A Timer Remote Control Shutter
Canon 430exII Flash
Tripod

Bridal Portraits at Mayfield Park in Austin: Cassie

So… last week a got a voice mail from a bride in search of a wedding photographer to shoot her Bridal Portraits at Mayfield Park. Cassie did a great job and I am so happy that I was able to step in to help her out… turns out, I will be shooting her wedding on March 14th. YAY!

This was the first time I really got to use my new 45mm Tilt-shift lens! I love the effect of the selective focusing. It really helps to isolate the subject and bring out the best features in image. I can’t wait to use it on future sessions. You can see more samples of this lens on my last post,  Reunion at Fort Hood.
