Sean & Kelly’s wedding at The Allan House

Wow! What a night to remember! Kelly & Sean sure know how to throw party…I mean wedding… The Allan House was the perfect backdrop to their vintage style, 80′s themed wedding! With an all star cast of wedding professionals, the night was sure to be one for the ages. Courtney from BZ Events organized the whole wedding, and the pig… that’s right a whole pig, was roasted by Royal Fig catering and sweets were provided by Stardust Pastry, delicious! The wedding ceremony was short & sweet as the newly weds recited their vows together at the same time, but the real action started at the reception. Radiostar kicked off the night with a Metallica cover song, Nothing Else Matters for the Bride & Groom’s first dance! That set the tone for the whole night which you can see from the photos below, and be on the look out for the elusive “keytar” near the end of the reception! Epic! I knew we were in trouble when Lloyd & Harry decided to crash the party… Sean & Kelly also decided to include and Guestbook Polaroid Station for their guest to sign… well, I got a hold of a camera and the rest is history.;)I also shot some 120 film on my Yashica Mat twin lens camera, see if you can spot the photos taken with film!;)Big thanks to Eric Kotara for second shooting this one with me.

Did I forget to mention the Keytar? Yeah, that was awesome and it culminated in the greatest most climactic ending to a wedding reception ever!

Alright, I don’t even know where to start. I think this is the greatest wedding EVER! The couple look AMAZING, the detail shots are to die for as are all the others. I just am seriously lost for words and the keytar-toting band looks absolutely awesome. It really looks like the perfect wedding to represent the bride & groom, Sean & Kelly, and it looks like they all had a blast :D

Thomas Lester - June 8, 2010 - 6:48 pm

OMG! You were right. That looks like the coolest wedding ever! Let’s play i-spy. I spy: Cokes in bottles. Flaminco guitar player. Polaroids. Great socks! Cowboy hats. A whole pig and barbecue (Yum). Bibs for adults. A band with great gear (Dr. Z amp… although shame on the guy with the Vox Tonelab). A KEETAR!!! Old suits w/ Tophats and Canes. Addidas warm ups. Super cute couple and a bicycle rickshaw.

VERY COOL!

RaShea - June 8, 2010 - 6:43 pm

What an amazing wedding. Classy, but with none of the stuffiness that can sometimes come with being classy. Man, I totally wish my wedding was like this! Everything just seems so fun and laid back, and the fans were a great idea to give the guests. Definitely a nice keepsake.

Really fab work (as usual) Ben, your story-telling of these two is a joy to see, and I don’t even know the couple :)

P.S. I’m totally digging the Polaroids too!

Austin Wedding Videography: Becky + Steven

Last Sunday I filmed one of Caroline’s weddings at the House on the Hill in Austin, Texas. It was actually raining on and off most of the day so we were lucky that the rain lifted and the sun came out just before the wedding ceremony. Becky and Steven wrote their own vows and also decided to meet each other before the wedding. They are truly a unique couple and I wish them the best in the future.
Being only my 3rd wedding to film, I think it turned out perfect and I really learned a lot. I can’t wait to add a video package so I can create more wedding films for my clients in Austin, Texas.

1-one cinematographer
1-5D MarkII
1-Tripod, 1 GlideTrack, 1 Merlin Steady Cam
24-70mm2.8, 70-200mm4.0, 28mm1.8
audio was captured using a Zoom H4N paired with sennheiser ew g2 wireless lav mics

Very difficult to shot a wedding with only 1 camera but here it is. A little creative editing helps a lot!;)

Austin Wedding Videography: Brandi & Trey

Does anybody ever watch their wedding videos more than once? Have you ever seen someone cry after watching there 2 hour wedding video? Most people can’t pay attention long enough. I wanted to create something different, something that you’ll want to watch over and over until you can’t stop crying. I want to make a cinematic experience that you will never forget. I will be launching a new service very soon which will include a wedding day feature film. I have a few more weddings coming up before I do a hard launch, so stay tuned. More info to come…

I just received a bunch of new video gear to make cinematic wedding films using my 5D MarkII. I went along to one of Caroline’s wedding to create a video trailer for Brandi and Trey. It was a very small wedding on a Thursday, held at the Wingate hotel. The Ceremony was supposed to to be held at the Chapel Dulcinea but it got rained out so they had the ceremony at the reception site. It turned out to be a really nice evening.

Check out Caroline’s Photos HERE.

Brandie and Trey were married on Sept. 10th 2009. They had a very small wedding at the Wingate hotel in Austin, Texas.

I shot this film using my Canon 5d MarkII and a variety of lenses including the 24-70mm 2.8, 70-200mm 4.0 and the 100mm macro for the ring shots.

This was my first time using the GlideTrack system to achieve the cinematic style. I really love the end result, after many hours of editing…

I have two more weddings coming up to prefect the art and I can’t wait to see what I can create.
