San Marcos Engagement Photos: Liz & Zach

Oh how I miss San Marcos… I spent many sleepless nights on this campus while studying fine art photography. It is a love hate relationship…;)But I always love the the opportunity to go back to campus and take more pictures! Liz and Zach went to school at Texas State so it only natural that we would shoot their engagement session there. San Marcos River… I will be visiting you very soon…;)

Very nice – love the shadow shot and the ones of them playing pool. Hope your trip didn’t bring back too many bad memories.

San Marcos Engagement Photos: Ginger + James

Last Sunday, while most people in Austin were watching the Super Bowl, I was in San Marcos shooting an engagement session with two of my clients. Ginger & James are getting married on March 28th 2010 at the Texas Federation of Women’s Club Mansion in Austin Texas. Despite cold and muggy weather we had a great time roaming around the abandoned parks on the TX State Campus. Some of you might remember, that I graduated from TX State last December with a BFA in Photography, so I was completely at home. Ginger currently works at the university, and James and her frequently hang out in the beautiful parks on campus. James actually made and fashioned the large wooden swing featured in the photos below which was tons of fun and added a personal touch to their engagement portraits. I had a blast hanging out with Ginger & James and I can’t wait till the wedding! And trough the power of DVR, I didn’t miss any of the Superbowl commercials!;)

I had an great time with Ginger and James and we got some amazing photos from the wedding day. After the wedding was over, we went to the park in Austin to setup the swing, you might remember it from their engagement photos… that thing is soooo much fun! Below are some of my favorite images from the wedding. Big thanks to Caroline for second shooting this one with me! Don’t forget to check out the slide-show at the bottom. [...]

There’s some very creative use of light here – and the couple look very relaxed and comfortable with you shooting them. Well done :)

Gorgeous images…you really have a talent. How cool that you had some alone time with the couple while the Superbowl was going on…they should have more Superbowls if not to clear out the streets now and again more often!!

Such a gorgeous series. Very well done! I really like the one with them on the end of the pier – the deep green of the water really adds to the mood here. Beautiful work.

Engagements on the San Marcos River

We had an amazing time shooting Mike and Leighs engagements on the San Marcos River. Caroline has known them for years and they were willing to do an crazy thing we asked them to do. They were such a fun couple to shoot. I also got some hilarious video clips of the two. Enjoy!

Engagement Photography: Matt and Elle

Last Sunday I got to visit San Marcos to shoot engagement photos with Matt and Elle. It has been a while since I have been to San Marcos, I called it home for my last couple years of college. We had a great time around the city and down by the river (I gotta plan a tubing trip soon). It was a beautiful day and we got some great shots.

This is my favorite shot from the day. I told Elle to stand at the top of the stairs while Matt walked up to kiss her. I stood back and used my 5DMarkII in burst mode to capture multiple frames as he walked up the stairs. I then layered them in Photo Shop and added a fade to each image.
