Red Corral Ranch Wedding: Sarah & Christian

Last month I got to shoot at one of my favorite wedding venues in Texas. The Red Corral Ranch is a beautiful wedding venue with a big red barn set in the Texas hill country near Wimberley. It is just nice to get away from the rush of the city. A perfect setting for a wedding! Sarah & Christian got married at the Ranch in Oct. at the Pavilion. The weather was clear and later in the night at the big red barn, we all got to enjoy home-made smores while gazing up at the night sky. Make sure to check out the slideshow at the bottom and Sarah & Christian’s engagement photos here. Also if you haven’t tagged yourself in the Party-Booth photos, head over to facebook to find them!

Bill Millios - November 26, 2010 - 7:19 am

Whooooooooooa. I’m going down the list, “That’s my favorite. No, that’s my favorite. Wow, that’s my new favorite.” Home run, Ben. All around. The outdoor shots in the field, the shots with the overhead twinkly lights, the black and whites … spectacular.

Tenielle - November 25, 2010 - 7:35 pm

Colors and details!!! *Swoon*!! I adore the black and white shot of them in the field, has such a wonderful nostalgia about it. Beautiful!

Heather - November 25, 2010 - 6:02 pm

I adore those ceremony angles you used! Fabulous lighting and vivid post work. Well done!

Becca Dilley - November 23, 2010 - 10:21 am

Wow – You are so technically talented ASWELL as imaginative and creative. Beautiful wedding and of course you’ve captured it so well as usual!

Mary Earp - November 23, 2010 - 1:58 am

I too, love the light painting… I’m guessing with sparklers? So much art and originality in your work Ben. Just Beautiful!

Jessica Schilling - November 23, 2010 - 1:15 am

It’s pointless trying to pick favorite shots because these are all so amazing. Like really amazing. Love that there are so many different kinds of sparkly, gorgeous lights throughout and the couple looks so incredibly happy, it’s got me all smiley.

Magan Blasig - November 22, 2010 - 11:55 pm

Oh gosh! I can’t decide which set of images I like best – the first look, the field photos, or the beautiful bokeh and dancing… AWESOME job, Ben!

Sally - November 22, 2010 - 11:23 pm

LOVE that shot with all the flare looking down the aisle… so cool! What a fun wedding – and you captured it beautifully!

Nora Devai - November 22, 2010 - 9:50 pm

Amazing! You’ve really captured the essence of the day.

Jakob - November 22, 2010 - 7:53 pm

William Massey - November 22, 2010 - 6:18 pm

Lovely work. Your lighting is really top notch. The nighttime reception photos are sooo gorgeous and the long exposure sparkler shot is AMAZING!

Funmi Omotade-Tan - November 22, 2010 - 4:21 pm

Wow! The colours are stunning in this mega cool wedding, the play fighting image with boxing gloves and martial arts head tie = hilarious. Well captured Ben!

Paul Rowland - November 22, 2010 - 4:10 pm

Great wedding, Ben. Love the light painting and the portraits of just the two of them. Truly classic.

Nessa K - November 22, 2010 - 3:57 pm

I have so many favorites from this wedding, Ben, but my all time favorite has got to be the black and white of them in the field. It’s so timeless and beautiful. These are amazing. =)

Ashley Gillett - November 22, 2010 - 2:34 pm

Heart bokeh, too cute. The shot where your outside, looking into the barn is really nice. Love all the sparkly lights.

Albert Palmer - November 22, 2010 - 1:47 pm

I love the details you captured!

Elissa - November 22, 2010 - 8:37 am

Those reception shots are so killer. I love that shot with all the tiny Christmas lights hanging overhead like stars. Beautiful!

Wedding at Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley: Sam + Matt

I absolutely LOVE shooting weddings at Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley! They offer a wide variety of ceremony locations and many accommodations for your out of town guests. Sam & Matt chose to get married at The Labyrinth which, in medieval times, symbolized a hard path to God with a clearly defined center (God) and one entrance (birth). It represents the sacred journey, a pilgrimage of devotion which also represents the joining of two people in marriage. It was a beautiful day in Texas, the sun was out and the peacocks were displaying their beautiful plumage. The floral decor from Cowgirls & Flowers set a perfect tone for the day and rounded out the peacock theme. Congratulations to Sam & Matt! Below are some of my favorite images from the wedding as well as a Multi-Media slideshow at the end which includes some audio from the ceremony. Enjoy! As always, when me and Sweet Caroline team up something magical happens…

Sarah & Christian’s Engagement Photos in Wimberley

I love finding new and interesting locations for Engagement Session’s! Sarah and Christian originally wanted to shoot in Austin with the city skyline in the background but things didn’t work out as planned. Instead we went to a Private Ranch in Wimberley owned by one of their friends, it was simply amazing! It was foggy and a little rainy on that particular day but that didn’t stop us, we actually embraced it! There were soooo many awesome backdrops for the shoot. I had a great time hanging out and getting to know Sarah & Christian before their big Wedding day next October. I know their wedding is going to be amazing. Here are some of my favorite images… Hope you enjoy.

Awesome post! Your images are freakin sharp like a razor!

William Massey - November 20, 2009 - 11:45 pm

These are all awesome. I particularly like the last two. Great work!

Kyle - November 20, 2009 - 3:52 pm

Oh my gosh, American Gothic with an actual pitchfork?!? ROCK. ON.

James - November 20, 2009 - 2:49 pm

Beautiful scenery and great compo, makes great pictures! great job!

Alan Hutchison - November 20, 2009 - 6:15 am

Cracking work Ben – and if you have a pitchfork around you just have to have “that” photo – superb. Are you using a tilt-shift on a couple of these or was this done in post – nicely done either way.

Amanda Basteen - November 19, 2009 - 11:27 pm

Love this session! And I love that they dressed the part and acted out the pitchfork shot! great job! :)

David McNeil - November 19, 2009 - 2:04 pm

The Autumn is such a lovely time for shoots – so many beautiful colours are captured here. The field shots have a great relaxed feel to them – I love that none of these images seemed forced at all. Well done!

Kat Braman - November 19, 2009 - 9:18 am

these are great! I love that you had an actual pitchfork for the American Gothic shot. The fall colors are so beautiful.

Kristi Wright - November 19, 2009 - 8:58 am

These are amazing, Ben. I love the setting. The couple looks like they had a lot of fun!

Drew - November 18, 2009 - 11:01 pm

I love the playfulness of this couple HAHA, booty spanking :-)

Nice take on the american gothic!

Lyn Ismael-Bennett - November 18, 2009 - 6:21 pm

Cool set of photos. Love the colours as well!

Sam Obeid - November 18, 2009 - 4:19 pm

Ben these are excellent, the couple should be very pleased. 5 & 7 really stand out for me. Cheers!

You are a true mac-daddy

Razvan - November 17, 2009 - 6:16 pm

Awesome set!

Sneak Peek: Sarah & Christian’s E-session

So… probably not the most typical engagement photo I have ever taken. Usually they are full of happy people in love, (I got plenty of those as well) but this was just to good to pass up. Sarah and Christian invited me out the their friends Ranch in Wimberley to shoot their engagement photos, right across the river from the famous Blue Hole. Of course, It was the only day this week that was not bright and sunny, go figure, but we made it work. It was raining off and on during the whole shoot but not enough to stop us. As you might recall this is not my first time to shoot engagement photos in the rain. I just had to share this one… I am so excited to post them all because I know we got so many great pics. Stay tuned.;)
